What we know!
What are performance parts exactly? They are replacement or enhancement auto parts engineered to improve a car’s acceleration, braking or handling, with enthusiasts frequently replacing stock parts with automarket parts so as to improve a car’s performance.
That being said, by next year, the first prototype parts are planned to be ready for testing for the HRC Pilot, and while the racing division hasn’t detailed specifics surrounding those parts, it mentioned items designed for road, racetrack and trail use.
Within the Integra Type S HRC Prototype are glimpses of what is possible for road and track use, including upgrades to the aerodynamics, suspension, powertrain, braking and more. HRC also plans to showcase a Honda Pilot HRC Prototype at next week’s 2024 SMEA show in Las Vegas, where potential parts for off-road applications will be previewed and nine cars showcased.
Within the Pilot HRC Prototype are all the requisite parts that people love to purchase for 4Runners and Wranglers. There is also a substantial lift, tires with lots of sidewall, a steel bumper and sleek roof rack. Also featured is a Rotopax fuel canister that is mounted to some type of window-covering cargo system.
In addition, there is a Warn winch that is cleanly integrated, and impressive in that it is neither small nor light. It is in fact a great insurance policy if and when drivers tread into mud, sand or silt that may be too soft. A Pilot equipped with a camouflage wrap also featured a roof rack, extra lights, underbody protection, and all–terrain tires.
With the HRC Prototype, drivers get even closer to 4Runner looks with better driving dynamics and fuel economy. What Honda is bringing to the market is surely exciting!
Not yet mentioned in this recent announcement is that the HRC’s new parts range will likely maintain the factory warranty. That is similar to official performance parts by rival brands. And while performance parts can be expensive, the price is typically not as important to enthusiasts as the improvements that will result!
From high-performance wheels that reduce a car’s weight to performance engines that both boast significant amounts of power, Performance Car Parts are clearly on the rise and cater to a distinct group of buyers. Honda is now in on the action for the Pilot, and excitement is in the air! A major player in the Performance Parts game has arrived! See what’s in store!
