With a price expected in the range of about $48,000 and pre-sales opening later this year, see all this vehicle has in store!
Here’s more….
Its look!
Muscular and sporty, the Prologue has many features that speak to Honda’s SUV design language. With a much longer wheelbase at 121.8 inches, the Prologue is 8 inches longer and 5 inches wider than popular smaller SUVs, resulting in a very roomy and comfortable cabin within. The Prologue is especially unique when it comes to the area above its belt line, with the greenhouse much lower and more aerodynamically efficient than the boxier Pilot and Passport.
Noticeable changes in badging also mark the Prologue with a typed-out logo on the hatch featuring an old-school-like font that uses lowercase letters after the “H.” The other all-electric only badge is the “E,” which is on top of the AWD badge and serves to denote the all-electric Honda.
Inside, a very spacious cabin is found, and complete with a more modern look and feel. The total 136.9 cubic feet of interior space is ample. For the EX and Elite trims, drivers enjoy an eight-way power seat with two-way power lumbar, with both drivers and passengers alike getting the option of heated seats.
At the rear, seats have the capability of folding back in two positions, resulting in more headroom. With those seats folded, the Prologue has 25.2 cubes of cargo space, with that expanding to 57.7 when the 60/40 seats are folded.
Similar in dimensions to the midsize Passport, the Prologue sits atop 21-inch wheels and boasts a panoramic sunroof and simple LED lighting elements.
Its tech!
An 11.0-inch instrument display is present on all trims as well as a wireless smartphone charging pad, with the Elite boasting a 7×3-inch HUD for eyes-on-the-road information. An 11.3-inch touchscreen features Google built-in and can also work with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This upright tablet-style infotainment display is coupled with a very streamlined dashboard design and what is considered a clutter-free center console.
A head-up display is only available on the top-spec Elite trim. Also standard on the Touring and Elite models are a 12-speaker Bose stereo system with tweeter speakers.
Its power/charge!
The Prologue rides on a platform developed jointly with General Motors, and gets its power from the same Ultium battery pack that powers GM’s new EVs, which is an 85.0-kWh battery pack.
Standard on the Prologue is a single-motor powertrain which makes about 210 hp. A dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup is presented as an option and makes 288 ponies.
Fast charging is a given when it comes to the Prologue, thanks to a high-speed DC fast-charging system designed to provide approximately 65 miles of range after 10 minutes of charging. Honda will also sell a home charging kit for those wishing to refill in the comfort of their own home/garage.
A driving range is expected at around 250-320 miles per charge depending on the configuration.
There will be three optional packages for charging that will be included in the Prologue’s cost for 2024. The first is a $750 public charging credit, which allows anyone without access to a 120V or 240V outlet the ability to charge for free at an available public charger. Secondly, a portable charging package is available which has the capability of using a 7.6-kW charging cable and will also include $300 of public-charging credit and a $250 installation incentive through Honda Home Electrification. Lastly, there is a 11.5-kW home charging station package that includes $100 in public charging credits and a $500 installation incentive.
Its coverage!
The Prologue is presented with Honda’s usual coverage package that includes two years of complimentary scheduled maintenance as a bonus. It possesses a limited warranty that covers three years or 36,000 miles; a powertrain warranty that covers five years or 60,000 miles; coverage of electric components for eight years or 100,000 miles; and complimentary scheduled maintenance for two years or 24,000 miles.
