When it comes to its look, some refreshes are in store! With a nose freshened and wider and a mouthier lower air intake, the Civic Hybrid has a distinct and sporty appearance! Its thinner corner intakes are similar to the Civic Type R’s pieces, and a revised upper grille reduces what is almost a snout-like hood overbite as well. Headlights remain the same as do the taillights, doors and the rest of the sedan’s body.
The new Hybrid, starting at $26,000, boasts a fresh wheel design, which is likely hybrid-specific, as well as a light visual update and other changes for the next model year.
There is a streamlined interior design featuring clean lines and a dashboard featuring a full-width honeycomb-pattern mesh design element that uniquely conceals the air vents. Similar to the new Prius, which is enjoying rave reviews for taking a more powerful approach, the Civic Hybrid, which will only be offered as a front-wheel-drive car, is also following suit. With better style and handling, this model for 2025 is poised to take over the upper chunk of the Civic lineup. But what this means for the Civic’s entry-level 2.0-liter gas I-4 and the turbocharged 1.5-liter engine in the EX and Touring models remains to be seen.
Overall, hybrid variants made up one in four of its sales in America so it makes sense to open up its popular Civic to hybrid customers, which is expected to be an exclusive offering among the lineup’s top trims.
When it comes to pricing, the model is expected range from $26,000 to $35,000, depending on the trim and options. While exact pricing and many other details of the Civic Hybrid is not yet revealed, for the Civic Hybrid, Honda is expected to use a version of the Accord Hybrid’s
gasoline-electric setup, but possibly with less horsepower and a smaller gasoline engine. Warranties provide peace of mind, with Honda’s standard package, although considered average, including a complimentary scheduled maintenance plan, something the Toyota Corolla also offers as standard. There is also a limited warranty covering three years or 36,000 miles; and a powertrain warranty covering five years or 60,000 miles.
And no matter the power, the Civic’s nimble handling, communicative steering and well-balanced ride is surely to be maintained.
When it debuts this summer, it will surely face some competition in addition to the Prius, including the recently refreshed Hyundai Elantra and its long rival the Toyota Corolla.
