Oh so rugged!

More rugged and off-road capable than ever before, the 2024 Honda Pickup will get both increased off-road performance and upgraded tech! That is thanks to all-terrain tires, an off-road tuned suspension and steel underbody protection. If that isn’t enough, the rugged design also includes “RIDGELINE” stamped boldly across the tailgate while an enhanced cabin provides much-needed comfort and cutting-edge technology. Four trims, including the off-road directed TrailSport model, takes rugged to all new levels!

Your weekend adventure just got that much more amazing! Not only is your new Ridgeline ready to work hard, but to play hard, thanks to updated styling, improved off-road performance and a high-tech cabin. These new models, which will begin arriving at dealers come winter, continues what is a trend of sorts.

The four trim levels include the entry Sport, the midrange RTL, the new TrailSport with skid plates and all-terrain rubber and the top-of-the-line Black Edition. All feature a new grille design, with the TrailSport unique with its own version, larger mesh as well as underbody protection, pewter-gray 18-inch wheels, power-folding mirror and a special sky blue paint option.

“With every new TrailSport model we bring to market, Honda light trucks get more rugged than ever, and the increase in Ridgeline’s off-road performance continues that trend,” Lance Woelfer, assistant vice president of Honda Auto Sales, American Honda Motor Co. Inc., said. “Our more rugged Ridgeline will continue its strong momentum with sales up over 20 percent this year.”

The new Ridgeline TrailSport provides the Honda pick-up truck with an off-road suspension, all-terrain tires and steel underbody protection. The exclusive suspension tuning also boasts unique spring rates, damper valve turning and stabilizer bars. The latter increases articulation and improves off-road ride quality. This is achieved without jeopardizing the comfort within.

Sitting atop trail-ready all-terrain tires helps tremendously when increasing off-road performance, with standard General Grabber A/T Sport tires which drastically improve traction in such instances as dirt, sand, mud and rocky terrain on the roads traveled.

Honda has also retuned the Ridgeline TrailSport’s suspension to help fit the truck’s changed role. New steel ski plates are also presented, which serve to protect the oil pan.

A closer look!

In the desired off-road scenarios that many of today’s drivers and passengers enjoy, i-VTM4 will continue to route torque where it provides the upmost benefit, serving to maintain traction and stability in both mud and deep sand. Extreme conditions? We have that covered too! Power is sent to the wheel in contact with the ground to pull the vehicle through and ensure momentum. For that extra control, Ridgeline’s standard four-mode Intelligent Traction Management allows drivers to customize the i-VTM4 system for various terrains, including sand, snow, mud and paved roads.

Off-road performance is also increased by the looks of it, with the trail-ready Ridgeline TrailSport boasting a unique grille that features a much more rugged design, as well as black door-pillar and exterior mirror trim as well as a black crossbar atop the grille.

A rugged unibody construction includes extremely stiff, fully boxed frame members and a robust independent rear suspension that improves both stability and response. Thanks to a unique design and sophisticated chassis, a high level of driving refinement and responsive handling is realized. This is all while supporting a whopping 1,583-pound payload capacity. The Ridgeline is also capable of towing as much as 5,000 pounds!

Under hood, all Ridgelines are powered by the 3.5-liter V-6 making 280 hp and 262 lb.-ft. of torque, backed by a nine-speed transmission. All Ridgelines also use all-wheel-drive as well as Honda’s i-VTM4 torque-vectoring system to move up to 70 percent of the trucks’ power to the rear wheel, or wheels, as needed.

Taking a page from the toughest of trucks, a Dual-Action Tailgate which opens like a typical truck tailgate allows users easy access methods for both cargo and In-Bed Trunk. In its down position, it extends the 5-foot, 4-inch bed to more than 7 feet and can handle dynamic loads of up to 300 pounds, perfect for your motorcycle or ATV. Also, the tailgate inner surface features two comfy molded-in seats, ideal for a “tailgate party” or that next drive-in movie!

The area of technology is not to be forgotten with this enhancement, with placement that has been purposeful so as to serve to enhance the Ridgeline’s cabin experience. A new 7-inch digital instrument panel is standard and features an all-digital tachometer on the left and a physical speedometer on the right. There are also user-selectable functions including Honda Sensing settings that provide that extra confidence.

All of the Ridgeline trims receive a new and bigger 9-inch color touchscreen complete with a faster processor for lag-free performance. The ever-popular Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility is now standard, with the Ridgeline’s integrated navigation system simplified thanks to new graphics and few menus. Those opting for the Ridgeline’s Black Edition enjoy upgraded speaker performance that serves to further enhance the listening experience of its premium auto system.
