Hey good looking!

In what is considered a highly competitive class, the Honda Passport places high — always having the outdoors in mind! This two-row family SUV not only provides ample room for each and every adventure, but it comes with an overhaul for 2023 and an array of trim levels. With a strong engine, well-equipped safety tech and a sporty look and feel, adventure awaits in this solid mid-size model.

Here’s more…

Peak inside/out!

An attractive, spacious cabin with leather-trimmed seating is found within, with controls that are aptly organized and wide and comfortable front seats for driver and passenger’s alike. Passengers also enjoy a roomy back seat, allowing up to five people. This vehicle boasts 41 cubic feet of storage space behind the rear seat, and folding that row unveils 78 cubic feet and the capacity to carry 33 bags. Useful bins scattered throughout the cabin allows for ease of use for a number of items as does a quite large center-console bin.

Also within every Passport is an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. There is also Bluetooth and a wireless smartphone charging pad. On the EX-L trim and TrailSport models, enjoy a seven-speaker audio system. Those opting for the Passport Elite are presented with an upgraded 10-speaker audio system. Also standard on those trims is a 115-volt outlet.

On the exterior, the Passport is all-out rugged looking, beginning with a wide moonroof to the wheels. A bold front-end style is found here, complete with hood and fender as well as an attractive and eye-catching honeycomb grille. Sporty dual exhaust finishers mark the rear, also bringing to the forefront the SUV’s high ground clearance. Sharp roof rails in glossy black can support up to 165 pounds of gear for that next adventure, with exclusive 18-inch machine-finished wheels presented in the TrailSport. A textured sidewall on the tires results in an aggressive look, while LED Daytime Running lights that come standard provide not only keen visibility but all-out style.

Style cues are rounded out with a one-touch power moonroof and ambient lighting on the TrailSport as well as heated and ventilated seats.

Powered this way!

The Passport for 2023 is powered by a 280-hp 3.5-liter V6 and nine-speed automatic transmission, which results in a comfortable ride and direct steering. Its torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive, independent suspension and Intelligent Traction Management system aids in keeping each drive steady, even on rough terrain, making for less slippage and dirt or in wet conditions and better handling on dry roads. With just a push of a button as road conditions change, the Intelligent Traction Management system goes in effect, with each Passport including Snow, Mud and Sand modes.

In the area of power is also a great amount of towing capacity, with the Passport coming in at 5,000 pounds in towing capabilities.

Fuel efficient!

It is expected that the Passport for 2023 will have the same EPA-rating as last year’s model, which came in at 19 in the city and 24 on the highway with a combined raising of 21 miles per gallon. More information on this vehicle’s efficiency and economy can be found on the EPA’s website.

Safety at forefront!

A suite of key safety features come as standard content with each and every Passport, including forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-sport monitoring and much, much more! Other vital safety features include: standard lane-departure warnings and lane-keeping assist, standard adaptive cruise control and standard blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

The Passport’s crash test results can be found by listing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety websites.

Tech savvy!

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, wireless phone charging with LED indicator, Wi-Fi hotspot capability and the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation system which features 3-D renderings of terrain, buildings and road signs are among the many ways the Passport allows you to remain connected. There are also multiple 12-volt power outlets and a 115-volt power outlet that accommodates a standard electrical plug. Not only will you get a great all-terrain vehicle with the Passport, but an ideal charging station for your battery-powered outdoor gear!

And, by downloading the HondaLink app, you can pair your compatible device to do such things as save your parking location, view your fuel storage and schedule service appointments.

Special trim levels!

A new TrailSport trim level, introduced in the 2022 model and starting at $43,600, is a great package which increases the Passport’s track by 10 mm thanks to 18-inch wheels among the enhancements. This trim level is also marked by exterior changes such as a special grille and power-budge hood as well as interior perks including orange badging, orange stitching, mud-proof rubber floor mats and a revised instrument panel. All-wheel-drive comes standard on this model.

There is also the base EX-L trim, starting at $41,000, with AWD and the Elite at $46,560.

With a strong engine, well-equipped safety tech and plenty of cabin space, the Passport for 2023 checks lots and lots of boxes! This mid-size SUV is more than capable of facing off against others in its class, including the Subaru Outback, Hyundai Santa Fe and Ford Edge, and is the wise choice when it comes to an affordable, rugged-looking model!
